The Most Heat Absorption Material

on my birthday and books and films of the summer.

Pues bueno, como les decía en el post anterior, cumplí 27 años y me festejé en el ReContra. Como ya es costumbre, en esa fecha vi a amigos que no veía desde hace mucho tiempo, a algunos of them since my last birthday, and I spent it pretty well. It took me some, but that will not talk here. Not now.

I share some photos of the celebration, economists, and doctorate of miercolitos.

The blog has been near death many times but apparently resists. Since I got bored giving the same excuses and I guess you guys are too lazy to read. I'm very busy with a PhD, now more and blogging less tweeted, etc, etc. I think it also goes without saying that I will try to post more often. I've said it many times and did not comply.

The summer I was more or less blank. I did not do anything productive. I read a little, slept a lot and drink even more. Among my friends from the Wednesday, I earned the nickname "College boy" for the sleepless nights, or rather the day, bright summer, but it all ended now that the semester started.

Say I'm experiencing something like the raw for the party I picked up in the summer. I quite behind on research projects and now if I have time for anything. I think I will take a couple of weeks trying to catch up. I'm still not convinced he can succeed.

of books, I tell them I finished His Dark Materials trilogy, I read No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai, and started Generation X by Douglas Coupland. His Dark Materials recommend it, if not familiar is the trilogy to which it belongs The Golden Compass. And yes, although primarily focused on teenagers, not think it's a boring book for adults. As I read on the Internet, the book has been heavily criticized for the way she treats religious themes, but in my opinion is an exaggeration. After all, the book is not intended to be more than a fantasy story. At least I think that as a Catholic I would have no problem with my children to read. I guess it would have problems if they believe literally everything the book says, but I think that would apply to most of my favorite books. That is, I do not want my children to grow up to be Tyler Durden of Fight Club, Thomas of The Unbearable Lightness of Being or Toru Okada's The Wind-up Bird Chronicle.

movie I think I saw the most recommended in the summer is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the Swedish version. Demonized I have the habit of judging books by their covers and the Millennium trilogy definitely caught my attention since the first time I saw her. In my last Amazon purchase I included the first volume of the trilogy, just the name given to the film. Another strange habit I have is reading I like books when the movies are based. I think it's the best way to enjoy both. The reverse tends to be satisfactory.

I mean, I think, at least in my case, when I see a movie based on a book I liked I am unable to fully enjoy the film. When a movie I like, I try to read the book in which it is based and I enjoy it even more. And in general I think the truly optimal case is to see the movie, then read the book and finally go see the movie. In my personal experience has worked well.

But I strayed from the subject matter, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I had never saw a Swedish film. At least not to remember at this time. I am very unaccustomed to reading subtitles, I gave up smoking I had to watch foreign films. And I mean foreign films not in English or English. Ok, I stray from the subject again. The point is that I think the film is highly recommended and I doubt the remake they're doing in Hollywood can get over it. I leave you with the trailer.

warn. The trailer is misleading and the film is much more dialogue than action.

The other two recommended films of the summer, and "summer" I say that I saw during the summer because they are actually already rather old, RockAndRoll and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, both directed by Guy Ritchie. Trailers:

After seeing these two films work I declare myself a fan of Mr. Ritch. Although no human force on earth that makes me see Swept Away.

So things at once.

ended up with Megan Fox
