DEVELOPMENTS: THE STRIKE. SUMMARY OF EVENTS

All my patients and dedicated readers know very well that I have the gift of brevity. I like working with words, but I roll it up just a shade, getting lost in the many nuances of reality. I wish I could change the world with a single sentence, but that sentence would probably lie. Chesterton says mouth of one of his characters that the truth must necessarily be stranger than fiction, because the latter is a creation of the human spirit more akin to it. Ahem. It also sometimes I roll up out of pure pedantry.

What I meant is that I would have liked to be able to write a pamphlet magic, a aleph militant to light the hearts of the people and to fill our minds with steadfast arguments that take us by the hand to strike next Wednesday. I do not know it, but I wanted to at least prepare a "summary of battle" to serve as a general reference for the undecided. For those who want to dig a little deeper, enlazaré with previous posts in this blogs or blogs other friends.

1. is totally false that labor reform was necessary to overcome the economic crisis. It is clear that there has been the regulation of wage labor which has caused the crisis and there is no real logical connection linking these measures to overcome this situation. All these excuses are lies. And the fat.

2. The real part of the reform is the liberalization of dismissal. This not only affects this institution, but everything else, because regulation is the cornerstone of dismissal angle of the Labor Law, since it determines the context of power relations between employer and employee. All labor law can become (even more) a dead letter. The result of this flexibility will be a clear degradation of the legal position of workers.

3. The context of the crisis is very suitable to undertake such attacks because now is when workers are weaker. Now is when no one dares to make his move. Now is when growing legions of unemployed. This is where some may believe that reform can get the same job. Now is the time to take this opportunity to "clean up", waiting to hire in the future to the now unemployed less protective legal regime.

4. The dismissal was liberalized in all its dimensions. It relaxes the cause to the maximum extent possible, compensation subsidize and reduce the impact of non-compliance with procedural requirements. You have reached the end outrageous subsidies from a public fund compensation for unfair dismissal, redundancy to cover "the face" . That is, public authorities are working in the commission of crimes. On the other hand, measures that are supposedly aimed at combating the abuse of temporary contracts are more symbolic than anything else .

5. Taking this opportunity, we have undertaken many other changes to labor laws, some of which are also very questionable, as the regulation of working substantial changes or new wage regime pick.

6. The changes that have been built recently in the Parliament remain substantially the situation described above, and even further to soften the impact on workers, make it worse.

7. If you do not want to go on strike because you do not like the union organizers, you're much mistaken. Because, although it is true that unions can turn out an eventual failure impaired, the first casualties would be the workers as a class. It is not right to hurt yourself as long as harm to others. Apart from this, the answer to the problems we detect in the unions has to be his transformation, not annihilation.

8. If you do not want to go on strike because you think it will be useless, I also think you're wrong. This strike is important to us as people and workers as a group, regardless of who has more or less success. It's a war dance . Once to awaken from our dream. To exit the "idiocy" of our individualism that separates us from the life and ourselves. If we now find ourselves and others if not now roared, if we wake up now, if not raise his head from abuse, I honestly do not know when we're doing. Life always leave tomorrow. This strike should be a start. Of a new stage in our consciousness as individuals and as workers. *****

When the English team played-and won-in the world for a moment I could glimpse the beauty and power of people united around something, but it really was about something quite trivial. There was a indescribable force, unstoppable. There was generally a "good vibes" very interesting, a more spontaneous and human relations, a small example of how people could be treated. There was a marriage that, although national, was not limited to: Bolivians saw in Madrid and Cadiz the tourists in joining the ongoing orgy where a community sprang to report that no passport was required. The truth is that I had (healthy) envy of those who were able to live those passions or patriotic football that left me indifferent. It would be nice on Wednesday, united around something not so trivial, we see and experience even if a small fraction of the enormous power that hides the people and afflicted subject.

***** Well, I think I'm back again ;-)
