Note

The February 10, 2010 has been released the draft manual DSM-V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), which proposes to remove, along with the other subdivisions of pervasive developmental disorders, Asperger syndrome as a diagnostic category independently. This is due to new dimensional approach to diagnosis, rather than categorical, with which we intend to overcome several limitations of the current system (a well-known is exemplified in the inability to simultaneously diagnose Asperger syndrome and ADHD).
